Industrial automation plays a key role in increasing efficiency in the food industry, and robotic palletizing is one of the areas where this transformation is most evident.
The automation project developed by ESI Robotics was designed to handle two types of bags: 10 kg and 25 kg, each with specific handling and stacking requirements.
This flexibility was achieved by developing a multifunctional gripper, enabling the robot to adapt to different types of bags automatically. The gripper combines three gripping technologies: vacuum, forks, and claws, ensuring precise and safe handling of the bags.
For the 25 kg bags, which are heavier and more demanding in terms of stability, the gripper uses two distinct systems. The first is based on vacuum and mechanical forks, ensuring that the bag is securely held. The second system is a claw system that folds the bags, a key requirement to ensure that they are properly positioned and ready for transport.
After palletizing the bags, the process is completed with an automatic wrapper, which wraps the entire pallet in plastic film, ensuring its stability and protection during transport.
This robotic palletizing solution developed by ESI Robotics has resulted in a highly efficient operation. In addition to increasing the client's productivity, it has contributed to improving working conditions for operators.
